Mac Com Email No Longer Works In Outlook For Mac
I have done my best to comb through the community forum regarding this issue, but haven't seen an issue quite like what I am seeing this week. Prior to this week, I had my Outlook 2011 for Mac setup for email using POP settings - no issues with this approach, but was having some challenges managing emails across multiple devices when outlook was running (mostly email read/unread issues). So I have deleted my POP account settings and added a new account with the IMAP settings. My new challenge is, when I send emails from Outlook they seem to be sending fine (as I am bcc'ing myself to my Rogers account and a secondary gmail account), but I DO NOT get the copy I sent myself back into Outlook (I can see it on 2 other mobile devices plus on the yahoo webmail)? So the only way I can attempt to frame this is that IMAP may not be playing nice for receiving messages into Outlook, and some other error which I cannot even begin to explain?
Well, I have tried every available new email client (e.g. Outlook, Airmail, Polymail, Thunderbird, and even Mac Os Mail) but none of them delivers the combination of assets and usability that I happen to require, in a visual format that works for me.
***edited labels***. Have you tried sending yourself a mail, say from your gmail, direct to your rogers.and do you receive it? I have seen wired client things ocassionaly. Different clients. And often its around sending a copy to ones self. I get that here all the time where i work.
There are MAILING lists. Say a whole deparment's emails in it. I am in that list. I send an email to that list.
ALL members should get it, right? Doesnt send it to me. I think the email program.
ASSUMES since it knows that that address is ME, i dont really want to see it. Oh boy - I have found out where my problem was I was also receiving an error 3176 from Outlook that was almost completely hidden from normal view (not sure why they do that!!) - anyhow, it prompted me to re-review my account settings (as this error code suggests either Account Settings issue or DNS setting issue) While re-reviewing my account settings (again!), I just happened to randomly double-click in my incoming server window - and it was block selecting to the right(??!!?) of my entry for incoming server. Download trello for windows. I guess when I was initially setting up this account, I must have copied and pasted the server name from the Rogers IMAP settings on the webpage. As it turns out, there was additional information out to the right of the server name (but must have been padded with enough spaces that I couldn't view it in the little window that is shown. Once this extra information had been removed, inbound email working as expected. This is more than a little embarrassing - but I felt like I needed to close the loop on this (as I have spent way too many hours searching rogers, microsoft, and apple support pages this week).
Adding a screenshot doesn't seem to want to work in this post, so I cannot provide a visual of what I was seeing. While i cant comment on the MAC setup with imap.
I can tell you it works fine on iphone/ipad. To do IMAP on the ipads, etc the easiest way, is when setting up the mail, choose YAHOO. Enter in your credentials. And it does all the rest for you. Seems to work pretty well across multiple devices. Can sometimes take a bit of time to sync.
EG: Check my mail on phone, all are read/deleted, etc. Go to the ipad.
It may still show a few unread, etc. After a while they will refresh on their own, or if i go into the mail app, it auto refreshes and catches it up to be the same.
