Firewire To Usb Converter For Mac
Here is what I'm finding that might do the job. ARS Technologies has a USB to PCI and a USB to PCMCIA converter that might work. They claim full function of the cardbus and PCI cards. So I'm thinking I could find one of these (hopefully on ebay for cheap) and put in a PCi or PCMCIA firewire card (I have both) and be able to get the relatively slow DV data and control over a USB 2.0 port on my laptop. SSI2 PCI and SSI2 PCMCIA are the products, kind of expensive but with a lot of laptops there is no other choice. Docker volume on nfs. If anyone has experience with either of these devices, please post them.
