The hardware connection certainly beats other apps that rely on Wi-Fi to transmit data. In my testing, the convenience of a wireless connection don’t trump the solid speed of using the Lightning cable. Duet Display was one of the first apps to use the Lightning/USB connection as opposed to Wi-Fi only.
